About

Barbara Freedenberg founded Files In Order, LLC in 2013 to meet the needs of people who are unable to manage their daily finances, either permanently or temporarily. Her expert services include financial and health care records organization, bill paying, budgeting and planning, insurance claims processing, and the reconciliation of financial statements.

For nearly two decades, Barbara managed the finances for her husband’s dental practice. During that time, she developed her expertise in billing, budgeting, and health insurance claims processing.

Suddenly widowed in 2001, Barbara became her own daily money manager, successfully managing her household finances while raising her three adolescent sons. During the sale of her late husband’s dental practice, Barbara honed her skills as both an expert money manager and a keen negotiator. As she transitioned into her new role as a single parent, Barbara developed working relationships with her CPA, financial planner, and estate attorney which helped her maintain financial freedom and peace of mind.

Barbara is an active member of the American Association of Daily Money Managers and the Maryland-DC Regional Group of Daily Money Managers. This association provides visible credibility and peace of mind to prospective clients with background checks, professional liability insurance and a core services education and certification program for their members. Barbara recently served as treasurer on the Board of Directors of Women Business Owners of Montgomery County. She eagerly brought her expertise in planning, budgeting and financial detail to the board.

Barbara is passionate about bringing financial order and safety to her client’s lives. She is patient and respectful of her client’s needs, while trying to help them retain their independence. Barbara prides herself on being transparent, communicative and responsive to the needs of her clients, their families and financial professionals.

Now remarried, Barbara enjoys cooking and exercising and spending time with her growing family.
